Nostalgia

Shivers, goosebumps, things I usually experience whenever I go on a journey
back into the past. Looking at old pictures, seeing how innocent I was,
wearing dorky clothes. I looked dumb but I also looked like I never cared.
Looking at my pictures with my childhood friends, how happy we were, how
we used to love each other for no apparent reason. Remembering our silly
mistakes and how big our problems seemed when they were actually sillier
than we were. Those days when the only 'plastic' that existed in our
dictionaries was toys and Barbie dolls. Remembering my bedtime lullaby,
my first word, my first toy and my first day at school. It all seemed
like yesterday. The feeling of pleasure accompanied by goosebumps that I
get whenever I listen to old songs, nothing could compare to that.
When I take a look at my drawings, the older and worse they are, the
more meaningful they are to me. Paintings of my footprints and my bedtime
stories. My ballet stuff from pointe shoes and leotards to the pictures
and videos. The TV shows that I used to watch, the cartoons, my Kinder
Surprise toys'collection. My gameboy, the evolution from a walkman to an
mp3. My colouring book and the technique my mommy taught me so I'd keep the
colours within the outlines. The flashbacks couldn't be described, but
felt. Day by day I grew older, year after year a new candle was added
to my birthday cake. Pink fondant was my favourite I recall, and remained
my favourite actually. Those days, those memories, they're priceless.
I'd give away my life to relive them again.

The Power of a Word.

One simple word spoken can have one of the greatest powers on Earth.
Words can cause tears and can cause laughter, they can lead to living happily ever after.
They can manipulate your brain or break your heartinto halves,
they can be quite convincing, brain washing, perhaps.
You can be over the moon, or they can cause you a heartache.
A word could be a wise action and sometimes a mistake.
In moments of anger, in moments of pleasure. Some are never forgotten and some are to treasure.
Some heal pain and some leave scars. Leaving you broken and ending up in bars.
So use them wisely and think before you choose, put oneself in else's shoes.

In Time.

Time, a period of minutes, hours, days, etc. according to my dictionary. Time has been;
at least to me, one of the greatest mysteries of life. Some days pass by like it's only been
a few seconds, while some moments last for centuries. Same goes for school days, when
we're so eager to start our vacation and time seems to be slower than a turtle. As well
as a lifetime, when a man looks at his hands and realizes that it's been over 80 years.
Standing in the middle of no where and suddenly, a train passes by. With its high speed,
it takes less than a second, just a glimpse is all he was able to catch. 86,400 seconds a
day yet, they're not too much as they seem to be. They could be used wisely and on the
other hand, they can be used immaturely. And they could not be used at all. Even me,
I probably wasted a few minutes while typing these words and I have no clue if they'll
be of any use in the end. Who knows? What I know is that life is too short, way shorter
than we think, we just don't admit it sometimes. One goes to bed every single night,
not knowing if there will be another day to live. There's probably some reason or
wisdom behind the nature of time, how it can change, why we cannot go back in time
and how it can seem slow or fast when it's duration is already fixed. A minute lasts for
60 seconds, a day lasts for 24 hours and so on. This reason may not be revealed now,
or maybe it never will. It may be too complicated for our human brains to understand
but we'll drown back into the dynamism of life anyway. What matters the most is that
we shouldn't let our life distract us from our lifetime. Make the decisions you're
afraid of, stop delaying them. Fight for your rights. Pursue your dreams. Ask for people's
forgiveness if you ever did them wrong, you don't want them to die with their hearts
full of hatred. Ask for God's forgiveness and that he may have mercy towards you no
matter how many your sins are. Life ain't no rainbows and sunshine all the time but
also it's not that dark and dull. Learn how to look at the bright side of everything, life
is too short to cry over anything or anyone. Life is too short for regrets, we exist to
make mistakes anyway. We're human, the road to success could only be constructed
by mistakes. The more mistakes you make, the more you learn. Learn how to be
happy no matter how many problems you have, learn to smile, learn how to stick your
tongue out to life that tries effortlessly to depress you. Learn how to enjoy time, make
the best out of it. But beware, you're already running out of time.
