My Road to Success

There's that thing I strongly believe in. You might have heard this a billion times before
and you might think that these are just words we say to comfort our unsatisfied minds.
I strongly believe that if something you really wanted but didn't happen or you haven't
succeeded at it, that means that God's saving even better for you.  Not being able to
succeed doesn't mean that you're a loser or that someone else is better than you. You
might be seeing good in this thing now, but by time you might realize that it was for
your own sake that it didn't happen. Maybe God has planned our failure just to protect
us from any bad consequences that might be caused by this thing later on. But what I'm
definitely sure about, is that there's something much better waiting ahead. These better
things might not occur if the thing you initially desired took place. So would you stand
the regret later on? Or simply be grateful for anything that happens? I'd personally go
for being grateful. In fact, this might encourage you to move on and achieve even better.
I believe that failure is a double ended weapon. It could bring you down and force you
to withdraw. Or on the other hand, it has the power to be a very strong motivator.
Failure has the power to lead you to success. Only if you believe in that. Actually,
failing is even better than success. One who succeeds from the very first time doesn't
earn as much as that person who refuses to fail and keeps on fighting till he finally
succeeds. One who fails at first and suffers along his path to success will experience
the most wonderful feeling in the end. Rejecting failure, getting up and trying and trying
over and over again. Working your fingers to the bones, the honor of attempt, the effort
you put in order to reach your goal. This is true success. But you can't succeed unless
you believe. You won't succeed unless you believe you can, unless you believe you
will, unless you believe that you only failed for your own sake, for an unknown
reason. Unless you believe that failure can lead you to success but most importantly,
you have to believe that God's keeping for you something worth fighting for. This
is the strongest motivator. This will lead you to success.

The Friend Zone

So I'm not going to talk this time about something different, but I'll just look at it from
another perspective. Actually I don't usually talk about anything different but I believe
that everything is a matter of perspective. Sometimes most people share the same
perspective, while a few choose to go against the norm. Anyway, I just thought about
talking about the friend zone. Well, that's a zone some people might be reluctant to but
hold one with me. Whenever the friend zone is mentioned people automatically sympathize
with the one being "friendzoned" and nobody ever thinks about the other person. Nobody ever
thought if this other person might be suffering in return as well. Sometimes the "friendzoner"
may be aware of their "friendzoned" friend but they just value their friendship so much.
Don't you find it hard not to be able to share everything with your close friend just because
they're "friendzoned"?  I'm not blaming anybody here because it's simply nobody's fault,
but I just find it so unfair to take sides. And to every "friendzoned" guy or girl out there,
hold on. Don't push things. If it's meant to be, then it's meant to be. If not, then definitely
there's better waiting for you.

Empathy

This morning I've seen this photo that made me think about the term Empathy. It was a
cartoonized picture of a beggar holding a mirror with one hand to hide his face and the
other hand held out as some kind of gesture to ask for money. Meanwhile, a man passes
by and looks at himself in the mirror and gives the beggar money spontaneously. This has
shown that when the man has put himself in the beggar's situation he has actually felt how
hard would it be to ask people for help and receive nothing but negligence. Empathy. But
the matter is that empathy has to be there under any circumstances, it doesn't require a
mirror to be able to see yourself in another person's place. This doesn't only apply on
beggars and poor, this applies on our daily life too. Most of us have definitely suffered
the "They won't understand" thoughts. We've been through trouble and maybe situations
that have cause us so much pain but we prefer not to ask for help or advice. And why?
Because we usually assume that people won't understand what we're going through just
because they haven't experienced it and haven't felt how tough it is. So probably any
response or advice won't be quite satisfying for us. Well that's not just an assumption,
sometime it is true as nowadays people lack empathy. It's rare to find someone who
would totally understand what we're going through and when we do, they've probably
experienced a similar situation in the past. Why not have some empathy? Think about
it, some day you might be wishing people would have some empathy when dealing
with you, so why not have empathy with people now? Start with yourself, it's never
too late to change.

The Pursuit of Happiness

This might sound like a random cliche but it just hit me. What is happiness?  Well probably
we all know the answer to that, it's a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging
from contentment to intense joy. But I wasn't quite looking for a definition here, I was
more like questioning the source of this emotion. Happiness sounds like a word that has
control over other things in our lives. It has an impact on our actions and beliefs. Or maybe
that's what I personally believe. The thing is that the source or reason of happiness may vary
from person to another. Some people find happiness in wealth and money, while others find
it in health and peace of mind. Some find happiness in authority and power, when others think
happiness is found in their relationship with God and rituals. Other people believe that
the only reason for their happiness is when they would find their true love, the fairy tale they
have been dreaming about. Others will probably find happiness when hanging out with their
friends or spending some time with their family. Some people believe that happiness lies in
food, chocolate in my case. Ironic isn't it? But some people prefer solitude, this pleases them
and fills them with joy somehow. Some find music quite satisfying too. Well, the reasons are
many, there may be tons and tons of other reasons for happiness but ofcourse from different
perspectives. But you know what? We are never satisfied. We might have the time of our
lives, eat chocolate, stay healthy, maybe wealthy, surrounded by people who love us, maintain
our prayers and we might even be in love but we just keep on asking for more. A wealthy man
might have all what he has ever dreamed of but he might be lacking love, he might be alone and
miserable. On the other hand, a poor man may be suffering whether health issues or financial
ones but he's surrounded by those who love him and help him through  all of this. Nothing can
ever be perfect. One could be surrounded by lots of people who really love him but at some point
he just feels alone. Is this insane? Is he insecure? How can possibly someone feel lonely when
he's surrounded by all of those people? I'd probably want an answer to that. But life's just not
perfect isn't it? Where does true happiness really lie? I think that we're the ones who create it,
we're the ones who decide whether we're happy or not by how we react. We're simply never
satisfied and keep asking for more because we're humans. We're always thirsty for more, even
if we don't need it. We just keep on spotting the flaws and seek perfection while the truth is that
it doesn't really exist. Happiness is just like love, one of my favourite quotes would possibly be
"You don't love someone because they're perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they're
not." in other words, when you love someone you're eyes become unable to spot their flaws,
they can only see them perfect. So fall in love, or in other words start looking at the bright
side of your life. You might end up happy no matter what the circumstances are. Who knows?

Cupid ain't stupid after all..

Sometimes I just wonder how does cupid think?
Why does he keep on involving people in shit that's totally unnecessary? Why isn't he a perfect
match-maker?  He always throws his arrows towards the wrong people or maybe in the wrong
circumstances. It's either he loves her but she's in love with some jerk, or she's in love with
him and he loves some other girl who loves some other guy. And sometimes he's in love with
her but he's stuck in the friendzone and he's forced to watch other guys come and go.
And some other times, she's in love with him but unfortunately he's the right guy for her.
Yes, unfortunately! Because he's madly in love with some other girl who loves him in return.
Or maybe he always falls for girls who never see the good in him and spot nothing but his flaws,
he starts doubting himself. It's always about the wrong people or wrong timing. Cupid never hits
the jackpot, or barely does. Isn't it unfair to make all of these He's and She's suffer thinking
they'll never find true love?

       Well.. Dear He's and She's,
After too many thoughts about Cupid's reckless actions, don't worry. You're too
damn precious to end up with who you think you deserve just because you want to. Keep in
mind just one thing. That God's saving the best for the last, because He's saving the best for the
best. Don't stay up all night thinking about it, you'll get what you deserve. Eventually.

                                                                                             Sincerely,
                                                                                                        One of the best.

Where have I been?

I wonder what does solitude truly mean. What does loneliness mean? How could I be surrounded
by people and still feel alone? At some point one could feel surrounded by almost everyone and
at some other point you could become isolated from them all. You may still be able to see them,
their lips might be moving but you just can't here a single word they say. No sound. Nothing but
complete silence. Then you start to become more nervous when the sound of your fast heartbeats
breaks the silence, or when you could actually feel the blood flowing through your veins.
You look around, but you see no one. Nobody's there, where have they gone? It's dark, you're
alone and you just started panicking. Is this reality? Or you're just stuck in one of those nightmares?
You don't know. And I have no clue either, all I know is that I've been there before. But I didn't
know either to where they've been. I felt alone, empty and numb. I felt hallow, I wanted to burst
into tears. I had the urge to break something, maybe it would've made me feel better. I could've
found comfort in breaking a vase for instance. But I had to hold on, I had to control my anger.
Then I thought, why was I even angry? Why did I feel alone while I was surrounded by all of
these people? They started appearing again, they were back. Or maybe I was. Where have I been?
Where have we been? I still have no idea either, I'm lost as much as you are too. When I figure
out, I'll make sure to tell you.

My messed up thoughts

I started writing this post and I have no idea what I'm going to write about. Not sure if this
will be pointless as expected or maybe it'll turn out to be something actually worth reading.
I'm writing words and phrases and I still haven't figured out what they'll be talking about.
Waiting for an inspiration. Staring at the purple walls of my room and wondering if I should
have better given it one more layer of paint. It could've turned out to be just perfect. But then
I thought for a second and restored the memories to the day these walls were painted. It was
New Years Eve, I painted it with my cousin. We worked so hard for it to come as good as it
looks like right now. To me, it seemed just perfect. Still writing with no particular aim behind
this post. Then I took another look at my phone. The red light indicating a new message, that
what was I saw. A new Whatsapp message from a friend. Random conversation, nothing new.
I had a look on my other conversations. Same people, changing pictures, old and lame
conversations. Then I wondered why am I even talking to these people? These are random talks,
nothing special about them. I could be doing something more useful instead but then I took a
look at the pictures. Those pictures with the same people I was texting all day long, I seemed
so happy. Now I understand. This is the fifteenth line now and I still haven't figured out.
This started getting on my nerves. Where else can I find inspiration? Another Whatsapp
message. A pissed off friend. I asked why, I looked like I care. But did I just look like I did?
Or I really did care? I did care, but why? The conversation went on and I still haven't figured out.
I thought that staring at this flat screen is just useless so I took a look at the mirror. I sighed then
I took a closer look. I looked tired, or maybe upset. I didn't have that same smile I had in the
pictures. I wasn't as happy, but why? Was it because I was too good at faking a smile?
I knew I wasn't happy but I couldn't think of a good reason. Am I depressed? I felt depressingly
empty. I started questioning myself. I'm usually that cheerful person who's always smiling
no matter what. But what happened? Was that a big lie? I felt numb and I couldn't think
about it. All I can think about is this post, this post that doesn't want to come to an end.
Why did I even start writing it in the first place? Maybe I found pleasure in writing or maybe
it was just a relieving way of expressing my feelings. But what were my feelings? I wasn't
even sure whether I'm happy or sad. Too many words, too many questions but all I wanted
to concentrate on was this post. I'll try finding inspiration in music then, let's see.
Too many genres, does this mean I'm schizophrenic? No, I'm probably just exaggerating.
I should stop thinking of how I feel for a while and focus. I shouldn't lose concentration.
Aha, that's a good song to listen. Hmm.. Deep lyrics, but sad. He's broken hearted, but
why? He's in love? What is love? Some stupid feeling, some kind of bond? Why do people
cry and become broken hearted when they're not loved in return? Or when they're betrayed
from the ones they love? Why do people sing about love? Why do they write stories and
novels about it? Why does everything have to revolve around love? Too many questions
again. This has to come to an end, I need to relate all these thoughts so I could actually
come up with something worth reading. I'll read it all over again.
Now after I've read it all together, I understand. Do you?

On the edge of a friendship

Here's a short sad story to end up the day with.  Best friends they were, more than you could
ever imagine. She always had the right answers, he was her secret keeper. She was always by
his side and he was always the one defending her. Talking all day long, late night conversations.
Sweet talks, inside jokes, fights, arguments and all. It was out of his hands, he had to walk
away. She was too selfish, she preferred their friendship. They drifted apart and got back together.
Their friendship was much bigger than how he felt. But was it because he didn't have the guts to admit it? Was he afraid of rejection? No, he just valued their friendship and chose to
be the loyal friend instead. He made the right choice.

Grew up to be a 'dude'

I don't call myself a guy trapped in a girl's body. I'm not a tomboy either. I'm a girl, but a
different one. I hate girl talk and I prefer hanging out with guys because it's just less drama.
Criticize me if you wish, I'll respect your opinion. I might wear a dress, heels or even make-up
but I'm just not into girls' other shallow interests. Trust me, sitting with a bunch of girls is not
as fun as you might think. I feel like vomiting myself. As a kid, I enjoyed playing with Barbies
but I never thought I'd be witnessing real ones in real life. I never wanted to be a princess,
I remember I was fascinated with black leather jackets and motorcycles at some phase of my
childhood. Weird, huh? And in the end, I grew up to be a dude. But I also got to keep my
femininity. That sounds gay? Forget about it. You won't understand anyway.

Because it helps.

Have you ever tried expressing your anger or pain with happiness? You probably think that's
total nonsense. Well it's not. Think about it, we all tried it. You hide your pain with faking a
smile, it helps. You cry yourself to sleep while hugging a chocolate bar, it helps. You sleep
all day long just to escape reality, it helps. You may sing at the top of your lungs, while you
sound terrible but you just don't care because it helps. You may drive too fast, open the
windows just to feel the wind running through your hair and hitting your face, it helps.
We seek to please ourselves with these little things because we're too strong to simply give
up and cry. We're stronger than we think. Still not convinced? Then probably that's just me.

Sad but true.

Funny how we can criticize ourselves sometimes. I personally believe that I'm allergic to
the human race despite the fact that I belong to it. Sad but true. It's not that we lack perfection
but we just have unbearable flaws, we keep on competing without realizing that we're
backstabbing each other. We can be the world's biggest liars, hypocrites and fools. Ego may
take over sometimes fooling us we're perfect although we're not even close to it. Life's stealing
our minds making us forget why we're here in the first place. We're here for a reason. It's a
test, a test that we're not even close to passing it. Seems like there won't be a reward after all.
Or maybe there will be?  Let's pretend that one day people will realize this and start moving
forward. What? What's funny about this? You can now leave me with my messed up thoughts.
